Symptoms of Learning Problems
These are some of the common concerns which may lead to a referral:
- Difficulties decoding or spelling unfamiliar words
- Difficulties organizing thoughts and expressing self through writing
- Difficulties completing tasks in the time most other students finish
- Difficulties learning math facts
- Difficulties remembering and/or comprehending what has been said or read
- Difficulties interacting with peers and sustaining relationships with other
- Difficulties sustaining attention
- Heightened distractibility
- Ability to focus on one’s favorite television shows or video games for hours, but not on one’s homework or schoolwork
- Heightened impulsivity/hyperactivity
- Difficulties with organization and/or planning
- Difficulties controlling worries
