Mental Health Therapist (Full-Time)

Clarity’s Mental Health Therapists assess and diagnose clients with referral concerns related to learning, behavioral, emotional, and/or social difficulties, develop individual plans of care addressing treatment needs, and provide individual and family counseling to a range of clients from preschool age to young adulthood. Mental Health Therapists are part of the Psychology and Counseling Department, which is comprised of licensed psychologists, psychoeducational specialists, professional counselors and clinical social workers.

A Master’s degree or higher in counseling, social work or psychology (or related discipline) from an accredited training program and licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in South Carolina as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Independent Social Worker-Clinical Practice (LISW-CP), or Licensed Psychologist is required. Licensed Professional Counselor Associates seeking post-master’s clinical supervision will be considered on a case-by-case basis. In addition, strong understanding of child development, family systems, and behavior modification; experience providing individual therapy, family therapy, and parent counseling/training; and experience counseling children ages preschool through young adult diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders (such as: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Communication Disorders, Learning Disorders, and ADHD), Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, PTSD/Trauma, Impulse-Control Disorders, and Parent-Child Relational Problems are required.

Speech Language Pathologist (Full Time)

Clarity’s Speech Language Pathologists evaluate, diagnose and remediate speech and language disorders in children and adults and provide appropriate referral and follow-up for clients. Speech Language Pathologists are part of the Speech and Language Department, which provides speech, language, auditory verbal and feeding therapy based on referral concerns and provider expertise.

A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school or program that meets the requirements of the Council on Professional Standards of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist through the SC Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology with Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is required. Candidates who are licensed in another state but eligible for licensure will be considered. In addition, strong pediatric clinical experience, ability to work effectively as a team member, and strong organizational, time management and planning skills are required.

Testing Psychologist (Full-Time)

Clarity’s psychologists specialize in assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders, including specific learning disorders (including dyslexia and nonverbal learning disorder), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disability, and in the development of recommendations for appropriate remediation of concerns. Clients served are usually preschool age to young adulthood and access Clarity’s psychological evaluations services via private pay or using Clarity’s sliding scale program (referred to as Clarity Cares, which assists families without insurance and with financial need in accessing services). Clarity’s Psychologists are members of the Psychology and Counseling Department, which is comprised of licensed psychologists, psychoeducational specialists, professional counselors and clinical social workers.

A Doctoral Degree in Psychology with specific training in assessment of pediatric and adolescent neurodevelopmental disorders, including specific learning disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disability is required for this position. In addition, licensure (or eligibility for licensure) through the SC LLR as a Licensed Psychologist is required. Strong post doctoral fellows seeking supervision for licensure will be considered.
