Margaret received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Audiology and Speech Sciences at Michigan State University. She received her Master of Speech Pathology degree with specialty certificate in Neurological Speech, Language, and Swallowing Disorders from the University of South Carolina. Over the last decade, Margaret garnered vast experience with speech, language, swallowing, and voice disorders in various settings including: large and small hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient rehabilitation, adult home health, private practice, early intervention, and school settings.
Margaret has been a Speech-Language Pathologist with Clarity since 2014 and became Director of Speech and Language Services in 2015. Although Margaret began her career over a decade ago with the intent of only serving adults in a rehabilitation setting, she has found a profound love of working with children, especially those with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Margaret is a lifetime learner and is always reading and researching, especially in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorder, brain anatomy and physiology, and linguistics. She enjoys attending conferences to hear people with Autism speak about their own experiences and perspectives.
Outside of the professional realm, Margaret enjoys spending time with her adventurous dog, Sparta, and her shy cat, Charlotte. She is an avid college sports fan and loves the Michigan State University Spartans. Margaret also loves to hike, skydive, camp, cook, garden, and read. Her favorite ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip.
